Visual nostalgia is easy to find and easy to fake. Sound is harder, and it is what actually triggers the memory — a modem handshake, a station ident, the specific compression of a cassette dub.

The stations below are not playlists of old songs. Radiooooo lets you pick a country and a decade and plays what was actually on the radio there; Nightride broadcasts music written now in the idiom of then. Between the two you can cover almost any mood the era had.

The text archives belong here too. Before the web had pictures, the culture was written down and passed around as plain files, and reading them is the closest you get to the tone of voice of the time.
